From dull corridorsWe make Koumio® zones
A place you can't walk past without stopping, where learning happens simply ··· in passing.
15 schools already have a Koumio® zone
From Czechia to the whole world
A stretch of corridor that starts working on its own
A Koumio® zone is a considered space in your building, fitted with interactive objects made of wood and steel. It works exactly where children spend their free time every day — with no phones in hand.
It survives teenagers
We build Koumio® boards for corridors that a hundred children pass through every day. In a class of twelve they last just as long.
Beech plywood and steel
Safe, solid mounting — including against removal
It won't add to your teachers' load
Minimal demands on teaching staff
Ready-made lesson plans for inquiry-based and conventional teaching
No supervision needed
No maintenance
It's for every child
A Koumio® board has no entry level. Every child develops their potential with it, at their own pace and in their own way.
Every year group benefits, for years after installation.
Inclusion across the full range — from children with special needs to gifted ones.
One thing left — to come and look at yours
The proposal is free of obligation and takes us an hour on site.
How does a corridor become a Koumio® zone?
01
It catches the eye
Unusual shapes, clean execution and a purposeful layout draw attention in.
02
Hands-on, without supervision
Handles and grips invite a touch before the head gets involved.
03
Play turns into figuring out
Hands-on play naturally becomes an experiment and raises questions: what am I playing with, and what is it meant to show?
04
Deeper thinking, alone and together
The thinking is guided by the child's own question or by a prepared set of curiosity questions. The Koumio® board answers with a phenomenon. It works one-to-one, peer-to-peer, across generations, with a teacher…
What people say about us
“Phases of the Moon hangs outside my office, so whenever someone starts turning it, I know the Moon is rising again.”
“They don't impose ready-made answers, they create room for discovery.”
“The teaching materials and the set of curiosity questions mean almost no extra work for teachers.”
This could be your corridor
Show it to us. We'll write back with what could be done with it.
A collection that grows with you
New Koumio® boards arrive quarter by quarter through to 2030. Your Koumio® zone can grow, or you can have several Koumio® zones on different themes.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS
What head teachers ask most often
We build Koumio® boards for corridors that hundreds of children pass through every day — beech plywood and steel, no parts that snap off on the first pull.
Running a Koumio® board is self-service and needs no supervision. It works even if the staff room never hears about it. If a teacher does want to bring it into a lesson, ready-made materials are waiting for both inquiry-based and conventional teaching.
No. You hang a Koumio® board on the wall as easily as a picture and secure it with locking screws. No cabling, no work on the wiring, no updates — a bit of free wall is enough. Every Koumio® board comes with an installation manual.
Yes, and it's entirely up to you. A Koumio® zone works with a single Koumio® board; you don't have to buy anything more. New themes arrive gradually and keep the same design language, so whichever you choose later will sit naturally among the ones you have. We'll get in touch now and then with what's new; the rest we leave to you.
